Network X 2026 lands in Vienna from October 13 to 15, and LF Broadband will be on the show floor as part of the Broadband Forum pavilion. The pod is where several threads of the 2026 program come together: production VOLTHA and SEBA deployments at Tier 1 operators, the BISDN Interoperability, Conformance and Certification Lab, and the standards-to-implementation collaboration with the Broadband Forum. This post outlines what to expect, who to look for, and where to find us for an informal happy hour on Wednesday afternoon.
The LF Broadband pod, in the Broadband Forum pavilion
LF Broadband is co-located with the Broadband Forum, and the pod is a partnership with two LF Broadband members: Netsia and Radisys. Both companies hold Governing Board voting seats, and both contribute directly to the technical work behind VOLTHA and SEBA. Bringing them onto the pod means visitors get to talk to the people who help maintain the code and integrate it into operator networks, not just the marketing story around it.
The conversations we expect to have on the floor cluster around three areas:
Real world VOLTHA and SEBA at Deutsche Telekom and Türk Telekom
VOLTHA is in production at Deutsche Telekom, running as a vendor-neutral abstraction layer across a multi-vendor PON estate. The Access 4.0 program has moved in-service OLTs within maintenance windows, applied zero-touch provisioning through the POD Access Orchestrator, and reduced dependency on single-vendor solutions. At Türk Telekom, SEBA and VOLTHA together support a whitebox OLT ecosystem with four vendor OLTs in production and two more in progress, serving 650,000 homes passed and growing, with measurable CAPEX and OPEX reduction. These are the deployments the team will unpack at the pod, with the operational detail that only makes sense in a one to one conversation.
The BISDN Interoperability, Conformance and Certification Lab
The LF Broadband Governing Board funded the BISDN Lab to remove the final barrier between a working codebase and a confident vendor rollout. Operated by BISDN and open to all LF Broadband ecosystem members, the lab runs multi-vendor OLT and ONT interoperability testing against the VOLTHA and SEBA reference implementations, plus conformance testing to BBF TR-385, TR-383, and WT-525. Vendors that clear the program receive a certification badge recognized by LF Broadband operator members.
The point of that stack of testing is simple: operators procure with confidence, because certified vendors have been tested end to end rather than just spec-checked. Vendors shorten sales cycles, because certification replaces months of bespoke operator lab trials. And as more vendors carry the badge, brownfield migration accelerates across the whole ecosystem. The lab is aimed squarely at OLT and ONT vendors chasing production deployments with operators like Deutsche Telekom, Türk Telekom, and Jio, at operators running or planning multi-vendor PON estates, and at new members looking for an accelerated path from lab to production. The Broadband Forum collaboration and BASe programming
Being physically in the Broadband Forum pavilion reflects the way the two organizations work together year round: BBF defines requirements, interfaces, and data models; LF Broadband turns those into implementations that operators can test, improve, and run. That collaboration is on full display at Network X in the BASe workshop track on the Partner Stage.
LF Broadband member Radisys is on the BASe panel Beyond the Bit: The Multi-Gigabit Access Evolution, from 10:30 to 12:00 CEST on Wednesday, October 14, represented by Prakash Siva, SVP and Head of Technology and Architecture. The session looks at converged access across DOCSIS 4.0 HFC, mmWave FWA, and 50G-PON FTTP under a unified SDN control plane. It is one of four BASe sessions running across Tuesday and Wednesday, and the operator-only roundtable that closes out the day at 13:30 CEST includes LF Broadband Governing Board voting representative Dr. Mehmet Özdem of Türk Telekom.
